| Hike to Ice Lake |
| The Ice Lake trail head is less than ten miles out of Silverton, CO. To my eye the color of the lake was turquoise. The photo didn't capture that color with the possiible exception of the the dog swimming in the cold lake. The camera isn't completely faithful to the sky and the water colors. At this elevation of 12300 feet, the air is rather thin making for labored breathing. That thin air also makes for the dark blue sky. There would have been some photos of columbine with mountain back drops. However the previous day of rain and hail didn't do the columbines any favors. The single columbine photograph was one that happened to be under the protection of a rock. The out stretched hands of yours truly is expressing, "Can you believe the beauty and color here at Ice Lake." |
