Growl. 1) I am heartily sick of the cliche that immigrants do work that no American is willing to do. 'Willing to do' at what pay scale? Without an endless supply of the excess population of third world countries, maybe the pay scale in the US would go up. Why would that be so bad? 2) Why aren't young people 'willing to do' some of the work that illegal or legal immigrants do? I suppose the answer is that they get allowances from their parents, and are too busy locked up inside a bedroom, playing video games all day. Also, they are busy going to college to get useless diplomas, and can afford to because the government subsidizes loan for that purpose. 3) Why should we not repeal outdated laws that prevent a 15 year old from working? They were passed as part of the pro-union agenda of the FDR era. So instead of a 15 year old working, we bring in illegal immigrants. 4) (continued growls) I say bring the Troops home and put them to work building a Berlin Wall from Brownsville TX to San Diego. Sorry for the rant. This is a hot button issue for me. |
